Rehearsal for a fund raising gala, on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at the Spanische Hofreitschule in Vienna. It was the first time since the middle of the 16th century that foreign horses and riders are hosted in this traditional establishment.
How lovely! And are you the professional photographer who took these fotos or were you simply so fortunate as to have been in attendance? If you were there, we are looking forward to hearing your impressions. I have always been so interested in the history of the Domecq (not "Domenecq") family and their horses. What were his horses like? Did Don Alvaro ride quite a bit during this Gala?
As I am something of an avid photographer myself, I am most interested in your camera and the lenses you used, etc, etc.
You had also shown us earlier fotos of the young stallions in performance whilst the SRS was in Germany. I am assuming you took those fotos, too? Was it with the same camera/lenses?
I forgot to add that the foto you have identified as "A Rider of the SRS" is Bereiter Herwig Radnetter and his immensely talented S Materia. This is a simply lovely foto of this pair.
I assume you own the copyright on all of these fotos. Please tell me that they are available for purchase!
Do you have any fotos of Oberbereiter Hausberger and C Dagmar?
Again, I am most interested in your camera/lenses, etc. The lighting can be difficult from the parterreloge, but better from the Hofloge. Did you find this to be the case?
Wow, are you a friend of Herwig Prammer? His pictures from the Gala with the Andalusian School are indeed lovely, but at a pinch I think I prefer the photos done recently by Michael Rzepa for the School, some of which were used on the SRS website for the tour to Germany (www.srs-ontour.de) The clarity and quality of the light in Rzepa's photographs are just amazing, and there also seems to be a great warmth to them, which really conveys the individual characters of the stallions. You can see them on his site www.horsepictures.at (I won't post them here, since I'm never sure whether copyright rules allow for crossposting of images, but you find them easily on Rezpa's site if you click on "portfolio" and then on the lovely pic of Conversano Dagmar!) The one of Favory Aquiljea and Pluto Bellornata is just to die for (I can't wait to see those two in a pas de deux in performance!) The two shots of Pluto Bona are particularly sympathetic, and really encapsulate what the School is about for me - perfect understanding between horse and rider!
Well then...I thought you were the photographer. If you are friends with either of the above mentioned photographers, that is most fantastic! Do you know if they are available for purchase? I especially like the one of Bereiter Radnetter. Do you have any more to share of the performance with the young stallions (KZK)? I am eager to see more of those (of course, as long as there is no infrigement of copyright as paeroa has noted above...my photography teacher, who is a proffi, has literally burned copyright law into our brains!!).
So let´s keep on learning geography: Autriche, Belgique, Chile, Denmark, Espagne, France, Great Britain, Honduras, Ireland, Jamaika....K L M N O P ......
Okay, romy, let us learn geography: Autriche, Belgique, Chile, Denmark, Espagne, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Jamaika, Kamerun, Libanon ....M, N, O, S.....
Romy, these spanish riders are not from the Royal Andalusian School (REAAE). Those have different tack (different bridles, grey saddles) and different uniforms. These are as far as I know from Domeq's private school..
