Chief Rider Hubert Eichinger

Chief Rider Eichinger died at 7. June 2009
I had the pleasure to work with him during my time as Eleve.
It's a great loss for the the dressage community and the Spanish Riding School.

  7. That is a sad message. As far as I understood he was only 70, and was rather ill.
What I remember the most of him was his work on long reigns, f.e. with Maestoso Palmira. I also know that he retired from the SRS rather early, due to his physical condition (in 1990, at the age of 51).
I do not know what he did after the SRS (perhaps Andreas knows), but I do know that he remained active in the horse world, f.e. as a dressage judge on the highest level.

  8. He mainly was a dressage judge. Mr. and Mrs. Eichinger owned a small "Schrebergarten" (small garden), where they spent most of the time. He loved gardening, plants and flowers.
