KL-Rosana

Andreas asked me to post a picture of our 4 years old mare ( Maestoso Toscana-94 x KL-Rigoletta). Maybe you will meet her soon in Vienna, Andreas. I hope so!

  2. I hope so too! She's not overweight at all, a Lipizzaner should be like that :-)

  4. Ilona ~ She's simply lovely! How tall is she at 4?

Andreas ~ There are few other Lipizzans where I live and my vet is always telling me that my two horses are fat. :-(

Thanks for sharing these photos. Always love to see more Lipizzaners! My favorite! :-)

  6. Thank you, Ilona. (I think she would be closer to 5' 3" ..? Wouldn't it be nice if we all measured the same!)

  7. As a foal, Rosana won her category during the international Lipizzaner horse championship in Herxheim, Germany (2005). At the end, she was rewarded as the best privately bred Lipizzaner of the show.

  12. Vet should look at the picture from Rubens "Der Raub der Sabinerinnen",
veilleicht geht ihm da ein Licht auf.

  13. Unless I am mistaken, "The Rape of the Sabine Women" by Rubens has only a brown horse, the body of which is mostly obscured by the rider's abduction of a woman. Poussin's depiction of the same event, "The Abduction of the Sabine Women," contains a robust white horse.

But I would not use this example you suggest, nor would I suggest to insult his profession as it is not in my nature to do so. I also think this discussion detracts from the real subject of this post, the lovely KL-Rosana, and consider the matter closed.
