Chrysaor

Chrysaor (Golden Sword) is a hard myth to research. Not as much information as about his brother, Pegasus. He is described as either a giant, a winged boar or a great warrior.

Hesiod, Theogony 280 ff (trans. Evelyn-White) (Greek epic C8th or C7th B.C.) :
"But when Perseus had cut off the head of Medousa there sprang from her blood great Khrysaor and the horse Pegasos . . . while Khrysaor is named for the golden 'aor', the sword he handles."

“As Medousa was slain [by Perseus], the neck was delivered of its twin birth, the Horse [Pegasos] and the Boy [Khrysaor] with the golden sword"

Loving warriors as I do, that is the image of Chrysaor I prefer. ;-)

  1. Wow! I couldn't find much on Chysaor, and I am so glad you posted this.

And am holding a good thought that you find your warrior (one who has not evolved from a frog, troll or orgre)!
