  2. Do the heads hold true to the families?

  3. You mean the stallion lines? No, not in my opinion.

  4. My Pluto is pretty close. Luck of the genetic draw. :) The lines are all so combined now. It's easier to spot sub-lines and families, where you know specific individuals and what they passed on to their offspring.

  5. Very interesting. My boy's dam is heavily Siglavy and definitely has that profile. He is Maestoso and is pretty close as well. Will have to take a profile photo and do a closer comparison.

  6. The heads which were drawn by a Slovakian artist, are all very typical Lipizzaner. But I also do not believe in a "typical Conversano" or a "typical Favory" in common in this way.
Sometimes you can say, that a specific head is a typical Maestoso from Piber, or a typical Siglavy from Topolcianky etc. But also the dam always brings in her characteristics, including head-forms.
And note: more than half of the male foals of a dam have the characteristics of the sire of the dam!

  7. My horse is from Maestoso lines but definitely has the full ram's head profile, which more strongly resembles the Conversano profile pictured here.
