Every year the famous french military ridingschool Cadre Noir in Saumur invites a traditional colleague institution for a combined gala performance. The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art (Jerez) and the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art (Lisbon/Queluz) participated already several times during this event.
Due to their own performance schedule, the Viennese Spanish Ridingschool never had the opportunity to join the "Printemps des écuyers" But 2011 will be different! According to the website of the Cadre Noir, the event will take place from June 10-12 in Saumur.

Just curious, Why spelled équyers instead of écuyers?
I heard that a rider in the Jerez School said that the 4 schools performance (from Paris, 2007) was to be be repeated in 2011. Have you heard anything about this, i.e. will the Portuguese and Spanish Schools be there, too? Doesn't look like it from the website...

Yep, I heard that too, some time ago. But I did not hear anything about it yet. So you never know.... The schedules of Jerez and Lisbon are not that fixed as Vienna. Sometimes both decide to travel in the last minutes.... (I missed a performance of Lisbon in our surroundings twice because of this). Who knows... they even may show up in Saumur!

AntwortenLöschenIn 2005 I was privileged to speak with Dr. Felipe Graciosa in Lisbon about our common dream: a combined performance of the 4 classical riding academies. He made that dream come true ;-))) So why not "dream" about increased cooperation between the schools ? I already know that Lisbon, Jerez and Saumur are willing to. The question now is: who will take the first step ? I like to support first steps ;-)))
About Saumur: exactly that weekend in June we have already an appointment somewhere else. So unfortunately we won't travel to Saumur.
