These photos I took in 2006 when Djakovo Stud farm celebrated 500 Years of existance and 200 Years of Lipizzaner breeding. Many Lipizzaners and their riders and drivers came from all over Croatia and abroad. Stud farms Szilvasvarad, Topolcianky and Lipica attended, but horses from Piber could not due to insuffient documents to cross the EU-Croatian border and had to be returned by Croatian Customs (at least this were the rumours at the time in Djakovo). Among other very honorable guests there were also the famous Knights of Sinj, known for their Knight Tournament Sinjska Alka, held every summer in Sinj, Croatia.
It was a very nice event and I had great time in Djakovo at that time.

AntwortenLöschenAs far as I know, yes. Both Stud farms, Djakovo and Lipik.
AntwortenLöschenPiber was on their way with the "Kaiser Quadrille": an original imperial Landauer with 4, 6 or even 8 Lipizzaners with original garment, joined by 2 or 4 riders in historical uniform. Just like the emperor once went out for a drive.
