A very silly question....

But I thought this was the best place to ask!

I'm going to an evening performance at the SRS in September and have seats in the parterreloge.  Is it cold in there?  I know a lot of display arenas like that can feel really cold when you're just sitting down watching, and being a typical girl, I am wondering what to wear!

Thanks

  1. You are right, it can get very chilly in there, even though the Winterreitschule is heated. But still.....

  2. YES it's flippin' freezing! I always wear a jacket and usually bring a scarf as well in case I start to feel extra chilly. I'm not particularly prone to feel the cold (being a well-upholstered panda) but in the parterre I feel cold on the hottest day. Of course that does mean when it gets really hot (as it may do in Vienna in September) the parterre is the coolest place in town!

  3. Thanks very much, I think you have saved me from shivering! I will go prepared with many layers... :-D I do feel the cold easily, hope it's a warm day.

  4. But you definitely will be warmed by the sight of the amazing hall, the magnificent horses, and the art of riding ;-))) So don't bother!

  5. Atjan, I wouldn't be so sure if that is enough warmth. But you are right.....

  6. That's true! But you don't mention the riders.... ;-D

Knowing me I will still shiver, I had better wrap up warm.

  7. don t be silly.
you will be so spell bound, that you won't notice the temperature!

wear layers that you can add and subtract

  8. I remember it becoming quite warm due to the crowd-- but then, I was up in the "cheap seats!" Layers are a good idea-- enjoy--

  9. The parterre is cozy ! I'm one of Gods warm souls who only gets cold when its bitter outside. There will be a chill in the Viennese September air in the morning and evening too but a sweater and a jacket would suffice I'm sure. I'm out in Wien the very end of Sept and up to the 4th October and hope to catch a performance.... I'll see whats available when I get there. Atjan is perfectly correct when he says you will warm to the architecture of the riding hall and those magnificent stallions...... enjoy....
