Les Quatre Ecoles d'Art Equestre is right around the corner!
Who is going to this? It would be wonderful to meet others from the list who will be there - should we try to get together for a little while?
I arrive the morning of Saturday Nov 24 and am attending the Saturday and Sunday performances. After that, I'm going on to Rotterdam for the last performances in the SRS tour.
MoreForward, another friend and I are rooming together near the Bercy. Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.
Can't wait for this amazing event! :-)
Gute Reise to all ~

Hi Jorie,
AntwortenLöschenIt won't surprise you: my wife and I will be in Paris (on Saturday evening) and in Rotterdam (all days).
We already made some appointments for Paris, with several people to meet. But perhaps we can meet you too. And as you will go to Rotterdam as well, I think we have a good opportunity to meet there too!
Please let me know. Nice to see faces behind all H&D-words!
Who will also join??
Best regards,
Atjan
Hello Atjan,
AntwortenLöschenIt would be great to meet your wife and you in Paris or Rotterdam! You're right, with Rotterdam being less busy, it would be nice to meet there as there will be more time.
I've sent you an email - please let me know if it doesn't get to you. My email is jorie@dressageclinics.org.
Looking forward to see you soon!
Best regards,
jorie (and Conversano Blanca I)
Just returned from Paris.... Still with my head in the clouds.
AntwortenLöschenAnd somewhere above those clouds were Xenophon, Pluvinel, Newcastle, Gueriniere, Marialva, Andrade, L철hneysen, the Weyrother's, Baucher, Fillis, L'Hotte, De Carpentry, Steinbrecht etc.etc.etc., together with Oliveira, Podhajsky, W채tjen, Seunig, Hazslinszky, etc.etc.etc. watching us. Definitely. Their heritage and spirits came down in a overwhelming atmosphere.
The combined performance of the four traditional ridingschools in the world was really "once in a lifetime" .....
All showing the best they have, the highlights of their specialisms. For me, the most impressive was the synergy and cooperation between all riders of all 4 schools. A riders party, and we were allowed to watch.... No competition among them, just riding friends, laughing and enjoying.
But the real stars were the horses! Almost all were stallions. And unknown to each other, but in some parts (like combined airs above the ground) fully working together in one arena, just as large as the "Winterreitschule" in Vienna. So well-mannered and sophisticated.
Just imagine: Saturday evening a full house in the arena of Bercy-Omnisports..... Completely sold out. More than 10.000 people in a bubbling bath of equestrian art.
And at the end: a parade of 40 classical trained stallions in passage in full gala outfit.... 10x 4, mixed: 10x Andalusian-Selle Francais-Lipizzaner-Alter Real. Stirrup to stirrup. A parade lead by the 4 directors of the institutions, grinning and glancing.
Believe me, I will never forget that sight in my life.
I did make some pictures, which I would like to share with you, but I fear the quality is not so good. But I will look for other pictures to upload in the gallery.

Hello Atjan, Thanks so much for your thoughts on the Paris exhibition. I have seen some photos and a video from the exhibition and it looked wonderful. Having been to Vienna so recently, I recognized many of the Lipizzaner in the show. From those photos, it looked like Hausi had both Dagmar brothers there (C. Dagmar for the long rein and F. Dagmar for levade on the short rein) and that they did very well. Many of the photos and video shots of the Spanish/Portugese riders and horses were also impressive. There were not many photos of the French riders/horses but I am sure they can walk proudly too. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts with us John
