We'll all be looking forward to hearing details of what it was like to participate in such a wonderful event. There have been a few video clips and photos (including some nice ones of you and C. Dagmar) out on the web so those of us who couldn't attend are getting a glimpse of what happened.
Hope you got to practice some of the French you learned too!
I usually just read here and don't post but yes, it was OUTSTANDING! I will never forget the moment when the four schools made their grand entrance. I was overwhelmed.
I am so pleased to have been a part of one of the amazing evenings. I have photos to remind me but none of them come close to portraying the magic of the display from the horses and riders.
I can only say WOW, and thank you to all of you who took the time to arrange such an amazing gathering.
You know what..... you won't believe it, but I waked up this morning with the music of the final grand parade in Paris in my head...... If there is a therapy, I don't want it... ;-)
And it does not leave my head. I hear it instantly. My colleagues asked me why I am staring out of the window.....
Fortunetaly for me the therapy is nearby: the SRS is only a half hour away from my home now. The performances in Rotterdam are next Friday till Sunday.....
I found a movie of lof 08:17" on You Tube of the performance in Paris of last sunday!
Hiya Hausi, Hey, I counted them...I made it 60 consecutive, single time flying changes. Dagmar you are a knockout !! [And the ever patient, wee guy behind you is pretty smart too !!! ] Well done Hausi and Daggs. To hear 10 thousand people cheering must have felt like a hurricane blowing at you. All praise thoroughly deserved. Love and best, Karen and Roderick
I echo the sentiments of what has already been posted - it was phenomenal, and not just because of the fantastic display of riding and beautiful horses. Even more emotionally stirring was seeing and feeling the warmth and emotion of the riders of all the schools as they performed, both separately and together. There was a very strong vibe of camaraderie and fellowship - it was phenomenal. Agree with Atjan - the music stays in the mind, the memories stir the soul - it was and is wonderful!
(And Atjan, hope to see youand your wife tonight at the performance! If we don't connect, I'm at the Parkhotel Bilderburg - please feel free to call so that we can arrange a time to get together.) Best regards, jorie (and Conversano Blanca I) www.dressageclinics.org
Thank you all for sharing news & links to videos & pictures of this wonderful event especially for those of us unable to attend! It's so heart warming to know so many, many people wanted & are able to take opportunity to enjoy the experience & so freely news & information with us. And again, I wonder, will the SRS ever permit a video to be made & available to the public of Andreas & C. Dragmar working on the long rein? What a wonderful reference & learning tool that would be for those who chose to benefit from it & indeed a delight for those who just wanted to watch in wonder at such excellence again & again! I too, look forward to your impressions Andreas, as & when you've had time to draw breath & share them with us.
Andreas, thank you for the wonderful report! What an experience, to be there in the arena, making history. We're very fortunate that you've shared it with us.
I had to stay home with my horses, but I've caught various videos that are being posted around the Web. Beautiful.
Thanks Andreas! I was sure that was F. Dagmar I saw in the videos posted online even though none of them showed your face. It was the beautiful way he moves into the levades and the way arches his back when he wants to hold his position longer. But, he's so beautiful even when standing still that it would be hard not to recognize him! C. Dagamar was amazing in Vienna. He's always very good but when he's rested, like he was the first performance Jan and I saw in Vienna, he's extremely brillant. So, I know exactly what you mean when you say that keeping him supple and relaxed paid off for Paris. I am sure that he was stunning in Paris even though I wasn't there! I saw professsional cameras at the arena level in some of the home videos posted on line. Will there be video sales of the performances? Mille Grazie! John
Thank you EVER so much for your thoughts and impressions. I have been devouring everything I can find on the internet that has anything to do with this historic performance!!
I feel moved to tears with your wonderful descriptions of this incredible event in the same manner that I was moved to tears when I saw you and C. Dagmar perform in person in St. Louis.
For those of us who could not be there (but so desperately wanted to be there!), thank you for sharing this with us.
Dear Andreas, Thank you so much for that emotive report! Is wonderful to know that this moment was so special for the riders as well... for me it was an unforgetable experience! I watched the show on Saturday, but I also saw your presentation in London last year... I have to say that the long rein solo is the most impressive moment! When the rider puts himself working in harmony working shoulder to shoulder with the horse! My trainer is from the Portuguese School and he got me a program signed by all the riders... it was wonderful reading your signature there!!! Thank you so much! All the best and hope you all get together again soon! Ana
I have to echo Jose's praise for the downloads to "youtube" which have kept us enthralled this side of the English channel. This magnificent "Pferdefest in Paris" has been a true example of what the French call "Liberte, Egalite et Fraternite" Many congratulations to you all, and especially to C. Dagmar, who "rocks" !!! Many thanks to Djebrin, we have yet another site to link to and view for some sensational pictures taken in Paris. Truly beautiful shots in performance. Excellent study of Hausi 'levade in hand' and Radnetters breathtaking levade !!! Enjoy, Karen Mac. www.marcus-nowotny.at
