SRS Kollektion Shop is closed

Hello Everybody,

sad news, it seems that the SRS Kollektion Shop was closed by end of Feb.2011: http://www.srs-kollektion.com/

Due to dubious problems with the SRS corporate management the supplier albion saddlemakers is not able to continue the SRS Kollektion Shop. Being a fan of the Lippizan Horse and the SRS, I find it very disappointing that the management could not overcome these difficulties.

I wrote a request to the SRS Management what alternatives for the purchase of quality horse equipment of the SRS were thought of for the ordinary fan and customer. I did not even get an answer.

Strange though: the SRS Management is trying very hard to change the School into a prospering business but with this kind of customer relationship management it will be a long way...

  1. As far as I know Spirig saddlery from St.Gallen in Switzerland is also supplying SRS with equipment - as I understood the quality is better than Albion. Andreas can tell more.

What I notice is that things are everywhere pretty same - equestrian world if irresponsive and always late. With some good exeptions which I cherish a lot!

  2. Can you tell me which Manufacturer made the leather goods, for example the saddles or bridles or cavessons. and which publisher produced the dvds or books? that were being sold in the SRS shop?

  3. Hello rfwilliams37,

yes of course, the manufacturer of the SRS Kollection is (or better was) the Albion Saddlery: http://www.albionsaddlemakers.com/ . As the SRS Kollection Website is now not available anymore you can only see what is left of the remaining products by one other saddlery i could find: http://www.martinwilkinson.com/webshaper/store/viewCat.asp?catID=258 . I guess the production has stopped, so we can only get what is left over.

@ avodnik: I have heard about the Spirig Saddlery where the junior chef has taken over the business a while ago. I had a closer look at the Caprice Saddle they produce for my own Lipizzan Horse. The Classical Ultima Saddle from Albion seems to be very good quality also. I have heard and seen only good things about the quality Albion is producing and I really liked the lounge cavesson Albion was offering in the SRS Kollection Shop. So i am curious to hear any negative reports from Mr. Hausberger about the Quality of Albion SRS Products.

The point I wanted to make here is 1. to inform you that the shop does not exist any more and 2. that the SRS Management does not seem to care much about it. From what I have heard Albion would have liked to continue the partnership with the SRS but the relationship was rather stressed lately. This is a pity for us ordinary customers, thats all.

  7. Hello Gennasart,

just to make sure, i was refering to the web-shop SRS Kollektion. I don't know anything about possible SRS Shops in Vienna. So please still look out for any SRS Shops when you visit Vienna for the next time ;-) , Regards Susann

  8. I never said Albion quality was poor in any way. I only said it seems Spirig was somewhat better. Now, is it really? I cannot say. I personally only have experience with Albion's SRS cavecon and it's quality is superb (I only needed to widen the metal nose strirup for my horse a bit). Andreas knows all their tack from both producers very well, so when I said he could comment more, it was not meant that I expected critics of Albion, rather that he couled tell more about Spirig as such, disregarding the Albion. Sorry if I was unclear.

All in all, I was really sad to hear it was closed for I wanted to buy the bridle as well...

  12. Susann, it was very confusing when I read your posting--I originally thought you had something to do with the Albion management, in their SRS division. I gather from the comment string that you are saying the the Vienna SRS management doesn't care--did you yourself speak with the SRS management personnel about this--it seems to me that you made a very broad and negative statement based on very little factual knowledge assuming you don't have personal knowledge of contractual agreements between the two entities, or what was being negotiated in terms of continuing that relationship. I see know good reason one might have for trying to turn a difference of opinion into animosity against one side or the other. And then Andreas got dragged into it! (at least that posting has been clarified). It seems that several people are disappointed that Albion will know longer be carrying the SRS line, but I bet if your real concern is that you can't get their fine products, they will begin to produce those that sold well under a different rubric, and in the meantime, maybe those SRS products will become closeouts and you can stock up!
