Joriejay, I am so sad to hear of the loss of your beloved Blanca. Blanca was a special gelding who found a special partner in you. He will always be in your heart and in the hearts of those of us who were lucky enough to meet him, see photographs, or hear you speak of him with such joy, love, and devotion.

RIP, dear Blanca. And hugs to you and your daughter, Jorie!

  2. Thank you so much for your thoughts.  We are numb and still can't believe he is gone.  We loved him so much... he is so special, and I am having a hard time imagining what my days will be like without him. Your comforting words are very much appreciated.

    Best,   jorie (and Blanca RIP)

  3. Dear Jorie,   I'm so sorry to read your sad news.   What can one say that will bring words of comfort at such times?   I don't know - I wish I did.   Recently someone on UK TV was speaking about the loss of a human loved one & said things that helped balance my heartache over loosing SP in June.   She said - to effect Would you wish to have missed all the wonderful times you've had & not feel the pain you're going through now - or prefer to experience all the pain & heart ache you're going through becasue of all the wonderful times with the one you've lost?   I hope that's of some little help ,,, it was to me.    Sincere sympathies & big extended cyber hugs.   Jos챕 Wales UK

  4. José, thank you very much for your kind words.  I know what you mean about not know what to say - I feel the same way when someone else has lost someone dear to them - but the expressions of sympathy from others has helped a lot.  I remember your losing SP this summer... it's so hard, and you are right, there is no getting around the fact that when we love something/someone, we open ourselves up to grief and pain when they leave us.   St Augustine said much the same thing... "Better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all."   And I believe it's true, but wow... yes, it does hurt.   Best,   jorie (and Conversano Blanca I  R.I.P.)
