Hello,
If any US admirers of the Spanish Riding School are home on New Year's day, I understand that the School will be featured on the PBS "Great Performances" broadcast from Vienna of the New Year's Day Strauss concert. The concert will be broadcast live on many NPR stations earlier in the day, but the telecast, which is supposed to show the School, will be telecast in the evening.

I remember the School was shown on this annual telecast in the past too.
A great way to launch the new year--a year in which the Spanish Riding School will return to the United States! I look forward to the fall tour and seeing Andreas and friends again!

AntwortenLöschenAndreas, The New Year's Day Concert from Vienna on PBS (in the US) was wonderful! The close up views of you and C Dagmar were simply perfect. I felt like I was right there with all of you. I have watched the New Year's Day concerts from Vienna for as long as I can remember, but this was just so special because we got to see so much of you and all of "our" beloved stallions. I suppose I am just one of those "emotional" types, but the opening strains of The Blue Danube just always tug at the heart strings. Thank you for bringing all of us such joy on New Year's Day! AntwortenLöschenHello Andreas, They showed great scenes of the School on the New Year's Concert. Were you riding N. Biserka in the Quadrille? If so, he did very well for a new Quadrille horse being filmed for the first time! C. Dagmar was excellent as always in the long rein scenes. Too bad that they didn't show him going around the corner and then down center line in the one tempi changes! That's one of the most impressive things in the solo! Which horse and rider did the Levade in hand? It looked more like Bereiter Radnetter and C. Tiberia than you and F. Dagmar but the angle was so unusual that we could not be sure who it was. I do have a recording on dvd from the Dutch national television. But that is in PAL. I do not know if your dvd-player and television (with NTSC?) can handle this?
